Our History

Lemieux Inc. was founded in Quebec City in 1953 by Marc-Aurèle Lemieux. From the outset, the company's mission was to distribute specialized industrial goods, primarily intended for woodworking operations, such as sandpaper, abrasive belts, and related tools.

The Minnesota Mining Manufacturing Company, later known as 3M, was very closely linked to Lemieux from its inception, as we distributed, even at that time, the three categories of 3M industrial products: abrasives, adhesives, and tapes.

Over the years, Lemieux Inc. has diversified, considerably expanding the range of products it offers to customers in the manufacturing sector. We added a range of power tools, cutting tools, accessories, and various tools used in metalworking.

In 1992, we acquired the largest bolt distributor in the Quebec region (Boulons et écrous DLM ltée), thereby strengthening our presence among steel product manufacturers and machining centers. Since then, we have been able to offer a complete range of tools, abrasives, adhesives, and all kinds of industrial fasteners necessary for the manufacture of finished products, both in the woodworking and metalworking industries.

In 1998, to adapt to the acquisition of Boulons et Écrous DLM and a growing clientele, we purchased a larger and more functional building. Lemieux Inc. continued to diversify by adding new product lines such as chemicals, safety products, storage units, and industrial distribution machines. We also designed a more specific product: an inventory and purchasing management system called AVANCIA.

Today, we are proud to ship anywhere in Canada and provide the most comprehensive expertise in industrial supplies and tools to our customers. Last but not least, we have always supported the development of human resources by promoting, among other things, a pleasant and functional work environment, and above all, by introducing continuing education programs for all our employees. This allows us to maintain a high level of expertise, to better serve our customers, even in the decades to come.
